2010 is about to see the largest shake up of the domestic rugby since the inception of the NPC in 1976 and despite powerful performances in recent years by the Stags both on and of the field they are by no means safe. To prove to the powers that be that Southland is worthy of a place in the new 10 team competition next year not only do the Stags need to finish right at the top of the table but they also must meet a raft of other criteria dreamed up by the NZRFU.
